JumpMat Readings
Jumpmat is an accurate measuring device for assessing lower body muscle power – the most sought after characteristic of physical fitness. The unit can be used to asses lower body power in a single and repetitive squat jumps and counter movement jumps.
Jumpmat is the only device of its kind that will automatically calculate more sophisticated indices of muscle power, such as Reactive Strength Index.
The JumpMAT is an excellent tool in multiple or continuous jump protocols in training. With no feedback it is difficult to keep the level of effort high or to know when to stop. The JumpMAT’s immediate feedback therefore helps motivation.
Below is a list of measurements the Jumpmat will provide instantly:
1.Reactive Strength Index (RSI)-Reactive Strength is a ratio of Jump Height to Contact Time and is shown when performing rebound jumps
2. Jump Height – The flight time of the jump measured in 1/1000th second is used to calculate the height jumped in 0.1cm intervals.
3. Flight Time – The time between leaving and landing on the mat is measured in 1/1000th second.
4. Contact Time – When the athlete steps on the mat and immediately jumps into the air, landing back on the mat, the contact time on the mat is measured in 1/1000th second.
5. Energy – Measured in Joules.
6. Power – Measured in kW.
7. Take off Velocity – Measured in m/s.
Methods of measurement:
Vertical Jump Mode: When the athlete steps onto the mat, remaining for more than one
second is deemed a standing jump and only Height Jumped and Flight Time are displayed.
Rebound Jump Mode: The athlete steps onto the mat and immediately jumps into the air.
On landing the Contact Time and Flight Time are measured. Height Jumped and Reactive Strength are then calculated and all four are displayed.
